Laverne Lewis Gaskins is a seasoned attorney with a comprehensive breadth of experience having served as in-house legal counsel for major universities located in Georgia and Alabama. With nearly 30 years practicing law, Gaskins, a former Administrative Law Judge and a former Georgia Special Assistant Attorney General, has litigation experience in personal injury, civil rights, criminal law, employment law, family law, juvenile matters and other civil matters.
Ms. Gaskins has substantial experience in contract law and higher education law.
A registered arbitrator, she has handled complex cases, some involving over half a million dollars.

Ms. Gaskins is from Augusta, Georgia and is a graduate of Richmond Academy, Valdosta State University and Florida State University College of Law.
She is admitted to practice in all Superior Courts in the State of Georgia as well as United States Supreme Court, Georgia Supreme Court, United States District Court of Georgia, the Middle District of Georgia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Ms. Gaskins in a member of the Augusta Bar Association, Georgia Bar Association, National Bar Association, and American Bar Association.
An arbitrator, and a mediator, Ms. Gaskins is a member of the following panels: American Arbitration Association (AAA) (Consumer and Employment Panel), International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), United States Postal Service (USPS) /American Postal Workers Union, AFL-CIO (APWU), National Mediation Board, and the Georgia Commission on Dispute Resolution. Ms. Gaskins is active in the community and she servers on a number of boards for local and state-wide organizations. She is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades.
